Collaborative learning hs to be set up, established, designed, roles understood, approaches agreed, technology use understood, DESIGNED. None of this has happened and therefore the experience is very unsatisfactory and in fact does not support learning at all !Marienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3027215050392861168.post-89871902893994627592010-07-23T16:19:19.550+01:002010-07-23T16:19:19.550+01:00Hi, I also wondered about this, and share annoyanc...Hi, I also wondered about this, and share annoyance you've expressed with the nature of some of our recent activities. <br />It may well be, as you say, that small groups would foster more collaboration, it may also be that we are individualists - another factor might be that we don't actually share a common objective, as learners - although each of us individually has the same objective, to pass H800. I am absolutely sure that if you designed a wiki activity for a group of learners pursuing a common goal (I'm attempting one for a sales team, in my ECA) that the results would be very different.Jane Forresthttp://learn.open.ac.uk/user/view.php?id=607244&course=6068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3027215050392861168.post-11722824712519118772010-07-23T07:27:44.227+01:002010-07-23T07:27:44.227+01:00Hi John. The same thought went through my mind - I wondered whether one of the reasons that wikis have not really been successful on this course is the fact that most of the students on the course are teachers in their professional lives. I think there is something in this, but I still feel that the wikis would have been more successful if the activities associated with them had been more appropriate.Tony Burkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07135280259115553247noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3027215050392861168.post-59532476810135535092010-07-23T05:41:13.372+01:002010-07-23T05:41:13.372+01:00Our "sequence of terms" wiki page from w...Our "sequence of terms" wiki page from week 23 is still empty, which rather proves your point. Do you think teachers might be unusually poor collaborators, because we're too accustomed to running our own show?jhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16596220450966683144noreply@blogger.com
